Due to safety concerns raised by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), 15-inch MacBook Pro laptop (manufactured by Apple Inc. between September 2015 and February 2017) are strictly forbidden in cabin and in checked baggage. Apple has determined that the battery on these laptops may overheat and pose a fire safety risk.

Air Transat humanitarian flight to Haiti

To help the Haitian population hit hard by Hurricane Matthew, Air Transat will operate a humanitarian flight from Montreal to Haiti on November 15, 2016. The carrier will transport several tonnes of basic necessities provided by the charity Food For The Poor Canada, in particular for preventing cholera, as well as aid workers from various organizations.
