Reptiles and other animals
Not far from San José, tourists will admire reptiles on a cruise to Tortuga Island, where they can spot crocodiles and multicoloured birds. The Manuel Antonio National Park is also home to many small mammals.

San José’s Teatro Nacional is one of the city’s most beautiful buildings. An impressive collection of gold pieces can be found at the Museo de Oro Precolombino. The Museo de Jade houses the most important collection of American jade. The city is peppered with numerous green spaces, favourites for families who want to relax.
