Entry requirements for Canada have changed. Find out if they apply to you.

In addition to your valid passport, you will also need:

  • a valid Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)*, or;
  • a valid visa, or;
  • a valid Permanent Resident Card (PRC)

What to do in Vancouver

  • In Canada’s westernmost province, Vancouver stuns with its ocean vistas against a backdrop of striking mountains. It’s where you’ll find Stanley Park, a large urban park known around the world for its forests, beaches and varied wildlife. Take a stroll or a bicycle ride along the Stanley Park Seawall, or lounge by English Bay Beach, the most popular beach in downtown Vancouver. If you’re the active type, Kitsilano Beach is for you! You can play volleyball, go
    sailing and do many more activities. 

  • Vancouver is also the perfect base to set off
    on a float plane adventure over the city and the region’s fantastic landscapes. Did you know that the city is also a popular location for TV and film shoots? The X-Files series and the Fifty Shades of Grey and Twillight movies were filmed there.

  • Grouse Mountain


    Rising 1,250 metres above Vancouver and just 15 minutes from the city’s downtown core, Grouse Mountain is worth the visit! Take the Super Skyride up while admiring the modern cityscape and jaw-dropping views of the Pacific Ocean and the Rockies. At its peak is the Eye of the Wind, a wind turbine with a clear glass viewPOD that offers a 360-degree view over the vast wilderness. And the zip lines will surely give you an adrenalin rush as you zoom across the peaks of Grouse and Dam mountains at 80 kilometres an hour.
     

  • Capilano Suspension Bridge Park

    The Capilano Suspension Bridge is also a must-see! This historic attraction, dating from 1889, is a 70-metre-high bridge that overlooks the Capilano River and delivers breathtaking views. The thrilling Cliffwalk takes you along a series of cantilevered bridges, stairs and glass platforms jutting out from the granite rock face; while Treetops Adventure invites you to cross seven suspension bridges across the coastal rainforest. 

  • Whistler


    The beautiful resort town of Whistler is only a two-hour drive from Vancouver. Known for its winter sports, such as alpine skiing at the Whistler Blackcomb
    resort, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, it also boasts a wide array of
    summer activities, including hiking, golfing and kayaking. You’re sure to have a
    great time at its charming village, known for its gastronomy and nightlife, as well as its traditional art galleries and world-renowned spas. Whistler, a lifestyle that’s uniquely Canadian!

Vancouver Island is worth the trip! In historic Victoria, admire the English colonial architecture and the spectacular Butchart Gardens. The fishing village of Tofino is perfect for hiking, surfing or… bear watching! It’s about three hours from downtown Vancouver.
 
The exciting American city of Seattle is only a two-hour drive from Vancouver. Kerry Park offers an unsurpassed view of downtown and Elliott Bay. Taste delicious seafood along the waterfront or discover the wine region of Woodinville.
 
A visit to Vancouver won’t be complete without a trip to the Rockies, located about 800 kilometres away, or an eight-hour drive. You can also explore them via Calgary, which is closer to the majestic mountains. Soak up the magical landscapes along the Icefields Parkway and head to the turquoise waters of Moraine Lake, and then to the Athabasca Falls, near Jasper.
