Air Transat Wins the Title of World's Best Leisure Airline for the Eighth Time

Air Transat has once again earned international recognition, being named World’s Best Leisure Airline at the Skytrax 2026 World Airline Awards. This prestigious honour marks the eighth time the company has received the title. Often referred to as the “Oscars of the airline industry,” the World Airline Awards are based on the feedback of millions of travellers worldwide. This latest distinction highlights Air Transat’s continued commitment to delivering a welcoming and enjoyable travel experience, combining comfort, high-quality service, and a strong focus on meeting the needs of its customers.

An Air Transat delegation, including President and Chief Executive Officer Annick Guérard, accepted the award today at the Skytrax ceremony held in London, England.

The World’s Best Leisure Airline Award is based on customer evaluations of the quality of products and services offered by leisure airlines, both onboard and on the ground. Air Transat previously won this award in 2012, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2023, 2024, and 2025, and was recognized as North America’s Best Leisure Airline in 2022.

About the World Airline Awards

Completely independent and impartial, the World Airline Awards were introduced in 1999 to provide a truly global study measuring passenger satisfaction. Travelers from around the world vote in the largest airline passenger survey to determine the award-winning airlines. For the global media, these awards are known as “the Oscars of the aviation industry.”

Skytrax covers all costs associated with the survey and the awards ceremony, and airlines are not required to pay any entry or registration fees. The use of award logos and results is free of charge.

The online survey was conducted from September 2025 to August 2026. More than 100 customer nationalities participated, and 24.8 million eligible responses were included in the results. All responses were analyzed to verify IP addresses and user information. Duplicate, suspicious, or ineligible entries were removed.

More than 300 airlines are featured in the 2025–2026 survey results. The survey was available in English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Turkish, Japanese, and Korean.
