Air Security Programs

Air security programs are developed by government authorities in collaboration with air carriers to ensure the safety of air travel using screening systems and watch lists. Consequently, individuals posing a threat are identified so that actions may be taken to prevent any potential risk.

Canada - Passenger Protect Program (PPP)

The Passenger Protect Program (PPP) is a Canadian air security program that prevents individuals who may pose a threat to air security or who may travel by air to commit a terrorist act.

Passengers travelling to, from and within Canada are screened against the Secure Air Travel Act (SATA) list, commonly referred to as Canada’s “no fly list”. If a listed individual is flagged, the individual may be required to undergo additional screening or may be denied boarding. Canadian Travel Number (CTN) Will open in a separate browser window: A CTN is a unique number assigned by the Passenger Protect Office which prevents delays at the airport for travelers who have the same, or similar, name as someone on the SATA list.

USA - Secure Flight Program

The Secure Flight Program is a program developed by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) which is applicable to flights to, from and overflying the U.S. The purpose of this program is to enhance the security of domestic and international air travel through the collection of specific passenger information for comparison to the U.S. security watch lists. Redress Number Will open in a separate browser window: A Redress Number is a unique number provided by The Department of Homeland Security Traveler Redress Inquiry Program (DHS TRIP) to individuals who have sought resolution regarding difficulties they experienced during travel screening including watch list issues.

Submitting your CTN and/or Redress Number

As part of these programs, passengers booking a flight must provide specific information to the air carrier including their full name, date of birth, gender. Passengers who have been issued a CTN or a Redress Number are encouraged to provide this information to facilitate the screening process.

As our reservation system is unable to accommodate a CTN or a Redress Number at present, this information must be provided separately from the booking process.
