Seat selection

Enjoy your flight to the fullest by booking the seat you want in advance.

Select your seat up to 24 hours before departure.

When you call, please have on hand:
- The name of your tour operator
- Your booking number
- Dates, flight numbers, origin and destination for both departure and return flights
- Your credit card

Families are a top priority at Air Transat. As the 2021 World's best Leisure Airline, we want to provide an enjoyable experience for families travelling with us. It is in this vein that, we provide free automated standard seat assignments for families on board our aircraft.

  • Standard seats are assigned for free to children aged between 2 and 13 inclusively and their parents/guardians featured on the same family booking. These seats will be grouped together and automatically assigned by the system after a booking has been made. Only standard seats will be assigned, and these will be subject to availability.
  • Standard seat assignments are automatically generated by the system for families whose bookings include of 5 passengers or less.
  • Families whose bookings include 6 or more passengers must call the Contact Centre at 1-877-TRANSAT (872-6728) no later than 24 hours before departure to receive free standard seat assignments.
  • Passengers can see their seat assignation on the «My booking»  Will open in a separate browser windowpage, 4 days after the booking.

  • Seat selection must be claimed at least 75 minutes prior to departure. In the event it is not claimed, your seat can be released without possibility of refund.
  • Limit of liability​
    Upon payment of the seat selection fee, Air Transat will assign you your requested seat. No refund will be provided should a passenger cancel their seat selection prior to travel. In the event of an aircraft substitution, Air Transat will assign an equivalent seat. If a passenger does not receive an equivalent seat, they will be entitled to a refund of their seat selection fee. To receive a refund, the passenger must submit a copy of their boarding pass, along with their contact information, within 30 days of their return flight. Any request for a refund made after this deadline or without all the required information will not be processed. Air Transat’s liability is limited to refunding the fees associated with seat selection.
