After their action-packed escapade in Lisbon, Portugal, our two Canadian fashion bloggers are given a new challenge: Fly to Puerto Vallarta in search of the hippest spots and some of the best shopping in Mexico. Part travel guide, part shopping guide, Style Jaunt, by FLARE magazine and Air Transat, will lead you to the best places and introduce you to some of the most fascinating artists and entrepreneurs.
Shopping in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit
Contrary to most resort cities, Puerto Vallarta was a thriving village long before it became the acclaimed destination it is today. Developed in the mid-19th century, its Old Town has a truly romantic feel and is home to the city’s most beautiful landmarks, like the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Throughout their trip, Gracie Carroll and Camille DG meet passionate locals who reveal hidden gems with the best food and local products, such as the Huaracheria Fabiola shop specializing in custom-made sandals or El patio de mi casa, a perfect little terrace hosting live jazz bands. The bloggers also get to discover Sayulita, a small village in the Riviera Nayarit State, approximately 40 minutes away from the city. With its cool West Coast surf town vibe and bohemian lifestyle, this place has lots to offer… especially when it comes to trendy spots! From paddleboard sessions to visits to local art galleries, the bloggers get to experience the true Sayulita life.
