Hello Canada! Bonjour Quebec!
Working on one’s French is one of the many things to do in Quebec. Canada’s only French-speaking province is a haven for hospitality seekers, as it features some of the most unique hotels in Canada. Winter visitors lucky enough to secure a room at the Ice Hotel (Hôtel de Glace) in Quebec City are in for a treat. Similar to the Ice Hotel in Sweden, it gets rebuilt every year. In the summer, tourists clamour for rooms at one of the most highly rated hotels in Canada, the Château Frontenac in Old Quebec, which offers a stunning view of the St. Lawrence River. Both properties are also popular destination wedding spots for Brits.
Ski holidays in Quebec
Most Quebec tourism guides recommend either Mont-Tremblant or Mont-Sainte-Anne as the best slopes in the province. Tremblant’s weather is usually a touch warmer as it’s further south near Montreal. It also has many more mountainside amenities, including quite the party scene. Sainte-Anne is better known for the quality of its snow and is suited to more skilled skiers. The après-ski scene is less robust, but Quebec City is just 40 minutes away.
Summer in La belle province
The map of Quebec is peppered with incredible warm-weather spots ranging from the electric to the eclectic. Mont-Tremblant turns into an outdoor playground complete with cycling, hiking, golfing, canoeing, and even fishing. History buffs can visit Tadoussac to see France’s first trading post in the New World. Families can take their kids to Granby Zoo, just an hour east of Montreal and one of the best in North America. Nature lovers can walk the rolling hills of Charlevoix north of Quebec City or bike the trails of Gatineau Park. For getting away from it all, nothing beats the spas at Sacacomie.
Air Transat flights to Quebec land in Montreal, the perfect jumping-off point for Brits coming to French Canada because it’s where the most English is spoken. Book a visit to Quebec today and enjoy a truly bon voyage!
