Nevada Travel Guide

  • The timeless beauty of the Silver State

Watch the blood-red sunset pour over million-year-old sandstone and petroglyphs. Sway to the classic pop tunes of your favorite artist at the Caesars Palace Colosseum. Breathe in the desert smells of rock and cactus of the Mojave Desert floating by as you drive towards the Grand Canyon. And feel the warm dry air on your skin as you plunge into the delicious green-blue waters of Lake Tahoe. Nevada is truly a feast for the senses.

Discover Nevada

  • Las Vegas and its surroundings

Located in southern Nevada’s Mojave Desert and surrounded by mountain ranges, Las Vegas is a sprawling glitz-filled city known for its gambling, shopping, fine dining, and nightlife. Reputed to be the entertainment capital of the world, Vegas is a wonderfully surreal, fast-paced city, a mix between iconic high-end casinos such as Caesars Palace and the pulsating nightlife of The Strip. We recommend Fremont Street, the Mob Museum, the Fountains of Belagio and a tour of the Grand Canyon.

  • Nature and exploration

Planning to explore the glorious desert landscapes surrounding Las Vegas? Suggested daytrips include the breathtaking Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area with its towering red sandstone peaks, and the Valley of Fire State Park which owes its name to sunsets that make the entire 46,000 acres of red Aztec sandstone look like they’re on fire. Other favourites include Seven Magic Mountains, an outdoor art installation of colorful 30-foot-high stacked boulders and Lake Tahoe with its dazzling clear blue waters.

  • Family friendly activities

A favorite with the kids, the Las Vegas Natural History Museum has exhibits ranging from dinosaurs to Nevada wildlife to a live shark exhibit. Too tame for your teen-agers? Head downtown, slip on a harness and feel the adrenaline rush of the SlotZilla Zipline, a 11-story slot machine-inspired zip line. Or pack up the family and head out to the copper mining region of Ely Nevada where the Nevada Railway Museum features train rides pulled by century-old steam engines.
