Or get your green on at Vale da Pinta, a rolling terrain with lakes and carob, fig, almond and olive trees.

  • Cruises

    The towering cliffs of the Algarve hide secret caves and coves that you can only reach by sea. Cruise the scenic route between Albufeira and Benagil and hop off to explore the mysterious grottoes, such as the Benagil Sea Cave. Take a boat from Lagos and wind through the iconic rock formations of Ponta da Piedade. Or glide along the Ria Formosa in a traditional boat and explore the natural park teeming with wildlife.

    Walk through the Vicentine Coast Natural Park along the Castelejo Environmental Trail, across pine forest and shrubby vegetation like strawberry trees. Explore the Seven Hanging Valleys Trail, which hugs the cliffs along the south coast and is intersected by seven watercourses that have carved seven valleys into the landscape. Hike the Don Quixote Trail in Cachopo amid cork oak groves and pine plantations, and marvel at the river whose shape and colour inspired its nickname: Blue Dragon.
