New route to Istanbul and new partnership with Turkish Airlines

Montreal, June 19, 2025 – Air Transat, voted World’s Best Leisure Airline at the 2025 Skytrax Word Airline Awards, will launch a new year-round non-stop route between Toronto and Istanbul. Starting December 6th, the service will operate twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Air Transat and Turkish Airlines have also established an interline partnership aimed at strengthening air service between Canada and Türkiye, while offering travel options to destinations across the Middle East, Asia and Africa. With the commencement of newly introduced direct flights, both airlines will be able to provide enriched services for the passengers through this partnership.

New route to Medellín

Montreal, May 22, 2025 – Air Transat continues to explore new horizons in South America with the launch of an exclusive new route between Toronto (YYZ) and Medellín (MDE)*, via Cartagena (CTG). This new twice-weekly service will connect Canadians with one of Colombia's most dynamic and mountainous cities, while also improving access to the popular destination of Cartagena.

*Subject to regulatory approvals.

Heading to Guyana

Montreal, May 8, 2025 – Air Transat is enhancing its winter program with the addition of a new non-stop route between Toronto-Pearson (YYZ) and Guyana's capital, Georgetown (GEO). This service will operate twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Fridays, from December 16, 2025, to April 24, 2026.

Passenger Notification - Samsung Galaxy Note 7

For safety reasons on all flights, Samsung Galaxy Note 7 devices are strictly forbidden.  Such devices may not be transported at all, including in checked, carry on baggage or on one’s person.

Transat comes to Fort McMurray’s aid

Brussels Airport: New security measures

New Air Transat’s application for smartphones

The Air Transat mobile application gives travellers access to their flight status, information on the destinations offered by Transat and allows them to download their electronic documents.

Launch of the electronic boarding pass

Montreal, November 7, 2017 — Launch of the electronic boarding pass : Air Transat passengers who check in online for their flights will have the option to receive their boarding passes electronically on their mobile devices.

Situation in Haiti

Montreal, February 28, 2019 -Global Affairs Canada has recently elevated it’s advisory for Haiti to avoid all travel due to the reigning civil unrest throughout the country. This is the highest level of the Canadian government’s Travel Advice and Advisories.

Union negotiations

Air Transat announced today that its flight attendants have voted in favour of the recommendation of the mediators from the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, thus ratifying the new collective agreement. There is no longer any risk of a strike, and this puts an end to the uncertainty for travellers.
