Currency
The Cuban Convertible Peso (CUC) is the official currency used by travelers visiting Cuba. CUCs can only be exchanged domestically, at an airport kiosk, or at most hotels and resorts. Please note that it is no longer possible to use local currency after passing through Cuban customs.
Credit cards and travellers cheques issued by American Banks and their affiliates are not accepted in Cuba (E.G: Amex, Citibank, MNBA, AAA, CAA) and pre-paid Canadian or American Credit Cards.
Official Language
Cuban Spanish is Cuba's official language, which is associated with Caribbean Spanish. Haitian Creole is the second most popular language in Cuba.
Things to remember
