Close to an hour’s drive from the airport, Holguin is every beach seeker’s perfect vacation destination. Located on the eastern coast of Cuba, Holguin has five beautiful beaches, the best being Playa Esmeralda and Playa Guardalavaca. Both are covered in white sand, lined with palm trees and next to turquoise waters great for snorkelling.

• Coral reefs and tropical fish: The rich marine life off the beaches of Holguin is a must-explore.
