    Explore Skanderberg Square, the city’s focal point, which is surrounded by iconic landmarks, including striking pastel buildings, the Opera House, and the Palace of Culture. It is also home to an 18th-century mosque, a skyscraper in the shape of a man’s head, and a Clock Tower. Walk on Tanner’s Bridge, one of the oldest remnants in the city, built during the Ottoman period. Admire the architecture of the imposing Orthodox Autocephalous Church of Albania and the historic Et’hem Bej Mosque. Located inside the walls of the Fortress of Justinian, the Tirana Castle is a Byzantine-era gem. Its restored walls now house trendy cafés and restaurants, artisan shops, and cultural spaces.

    Explore the massive Cold War bunkers Bunk’Art 1 and 2, now immersive museums. Bunk’Art 1, the biggest and most popular, was intended for the leaders of the regime in case of an attack. Inside, you will see the leaders’ private suites, soldiers’ quarters, and a huge theatre. Bunk’Art 2 is just off Skanderbeg Square and focuses on policing and detention of citizens under Hoxha’s regime. Dive into history at the National History Museum and Muzeu Historik Kombëtar, where ancient artifacts and communist-era exhibits tell the nation’s story. The Museum of Secret Surveillance (House of Leaves) reveals the secrets of Albania’s former regime. For art lovers, the National Gallery of Arts is a must.

    Ride the Dajti Ekspress Cable Car to the top of Mount Dajti for the best views of Tirana before hiking the mountain trails. Relax or bike through the Grand Park of Tirana, a green oasis with a serene lake. Explore Pazari i Ri, a lively bazaar blending tradition and modern flair, with food stalls, restaurants, and more. Then, head to Blloku, once a restricted area during the communist era, this trendy neighbourhood is now full of cafés, shops, and nightlife. In the evening, wander the Shëtitorja Murat Toptani Pedestrian Street. Soak in the lively atmosphere while walking down this pedestrian street featuring a variety of restaurants, market stalls, street art, and boutiques.
