Travellers will be able to enjoy new configuration next summer

Air Transat will increase the legroom in the Economy class sections of all of its aircraft starting in May 2008. All travellers who fly on Air Transat next summer will enjoy the comfort of the new cabin configuration.

For his part, Daniel Cousineau, Senior Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, for the Transat Holidays, Nolitours and Air Transat brands, added: "Travellers will continue to benefit from the very competitive pricing and excellent in-flight service for which Air Transat is known."

The fleet modification work will start next May and is scheduled for completion in mid-June. The average space between each row of seats will be increased to 32 inches from the current 30 (to 81 cm from 76 cm). This will result in a reduction in the number of seats to 249 from 259 on the fleet's Airbus A310s, and to 342 from 362 on the A330s. The number of Club class seats remains unchanged in both aircraft: 20 on the A310s and 21 on the A330s.
